Nick's 62 EK Ute
Re: Nick's 62 EK Ute
Thanks for all the comments and advice, while its making a hard decision even harder I can see both sides of the argument as my original plans were to just tidy up and recondition all the mechanicals. I have already ordered the roof lining and seat cover that will be turning up in the next week or two as they were shagged and that would of been it.
I still have a few weeks of work to do and will set it up on the rotisserie before I fully commit to one way or the other. Keep your thoughts coming.

Thanks Tim, yes I worked with Steppo for many years and we now work around the corner from each other Your welcome to come over for a look and a bit of a chin wag if your around Burpengary as it would be great to get advice from someone that has had a look at the car.SunnyTim wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 6:30 amHey Ziggy, at the end of the day it's your carziggy wrote:Thanks for all the comments and advice, while its making a hard decision even harder I can see both sides of the argument as my original plans were to just tidy up and recondition all the mechanicals. Re: Nick's 62 EK Ute
Update time.
So I decided that I would go through with a full restoration as I felt that was what was best for this car.
Have had it fully blasted and currently in primer. The car is better than expected with absolutely no rust or any sign of previous repair.
The resto shop said its the best old body they have ever done.

Absolutely beautiful. I imagine that’s what they looked like rolling off the body line 60 years ago.

Many thanks for those body pictures Nick. Very handy for me to see clearly how ute rear wheel arches and cab wall should look.

Great stuff ! It appears a proper resto is on its way ! The laborious task of rust removal wont get you down.

Re: Nick's 62 EK Ute
Little bit of an update, all underneath and the subframe has been painted so was time to bring the ute home and remove from the rotisserie.
Bolted the subframe on and built a trolley to move around. Have started to pin panels back so it can go for panel work and paint in the next few weeks.
