Got this from Thommo a few years ago when I got one of the NOS commercial doors from him for the van. I hope it works. Just chasing a fuse holder and wire up the speaker.Image

Patrick,
I used to work on my car in the driveway, and eveything had to be finished that night so I could drive it again next day. Now I have the luxury of a 72m2 shed and choice of cars to drive based on which one is easiest to get out. I only tidy up when I cant find something. Then I tidy until I find what I’m looking for. Wh3n I find it I get on with th3 job and the tidying gets forgotten until I can’t find something again. I’ve found a pattern to live by by golly!

Plenty mastic as requested Rob. They only had white at Bunnings. Makes clean up easier in a way. I've been using grey as that is what I've observed in strip down.ImageImage

Was going to re-use the bonnet lacing but not happy with it. I know you can buy it everywhere and it isn't that dear. Anyway went all modern with this hollow D extrusion from Clark Rubber as they were open today. Has a mastic self adheasive base so the fiddly clips will be held in reserve. Couldn't easily use them as it is a closed section. I did use the screws either end. If it doesn't perform I can always re do it with the repro item. Time will tell.

While at Clark also got 23mm U section for the guard gasket. The original is still basically serviceable so we shall see.ImageImage

Used M6 tappers along the window seam and M8 at the front.Image
I’ve got a few paint chips to touch up as a result of screwing the cover down. Tailgate also.Image
Tailgate will be getting another three coats but when? For now I’m glad it is on the car. Giving it a bake with the 2kW work light so I can play with the tonneau. Bit of a distraction really as I should be focusing on the motivation, so can drive it on the trailer for the trimmer. Off to get some paint for the engine and another 4L of Wedgewood Blue tomorrow. Need to bleed brakes. Inner tie rods are wrong but just reduced lock as a result. Might pull them off.

Had to purchase another 4 litres of colour, plus various other liquids, mainly for the car. Gone for a charcoal grey chev engine enamel to de-tune (de-hoon?) the motor for rego. They had a Holden grey which was slightly darker. I actually wanted a light grey but really I want a red.

While I had the wallet out I went to Car Parts Plus and grabbed a pair of HD inner tie rod ends to replace the dud eBay ones I got. $45 each, I thought they would be cheaper, but it’s reasonable.

Must focus on getting it stopping and going now.
