Subframe and body alignment

Post by Clinker42 »

Guys I found a pic on here with some of the dimensions for the chassis alignment. But it only shows a few of the measurements. It doesn’t show and triangulated measurements to make sure everything is square.
Does anyone have the measurements the two red arrow are point to.

Thanks Trevor

Trevor,

Although on a jig these old girls were assembled by hand and I think those triangulated measurements would differ from car to car especially from different plants.
If you measured both diagonals they should be the same both sides, this will tell you how square the floor pan is. Don't be surprised if they are out slightly because most would have left the factory that way.

Just thinking about your earlier posts you probably don't have those parts in place to go off ????

I wont be in the shed till the weekend but I can measure it then if no one else beats me to it.

Hi Greg, Ye this thing isn’t very square or what I consider square. I’m squaring it up using the front end mounting points to the rear spring hanger. Just trying to get it to factory specs so I got points of reference before I put the rear end clip in. The new rear chassis clip is narrower than the original chassis rails (which are still sitting in place) so I might just put the rear clip in with the lower 4 link bars square to the original spring hanger pick up points.
