Postie came with a parcel. Not for me, bugger, but he is an ex-panel beater so came and had a look and said let cure 4-5 days then smooth out run and dry patches with 1200 prior to buff, which aligns with my thinking.

Alex from Seatbelt Solutions rang to confirm details and belts are now in process.

Then the courier arrived with my tonneau. Okay now I’m even more excited but will put to one side until paint cured and rubbed, maybe.....Image

Thanks very much to neil for putting me on to these guys.

The blue sparkles a bit more out in the carport. Roof will need some rubbing.ImageImageImage

You must be over the goddamn moon, well done Clay! Hope you've upgraded from Coopers Sparkling to actual sparkling for the celebrations, you definitely deserve it mate. Looks fantastic.

Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute

Thanks Rob.

Now you know I don't like to get ahead of myself all that much so you'd be surprised to learn started fitting the tonneau, although paints not even cured, let alone buffed. I had to go to Mitre 10 for 3/4" plugs for the Fisholene holes and ended up getting some 10mm bar for the tonneau bow. $3.75 for two metres, bent up in the vice, May be a bit high in the middle.Image

Cheers BS. WFH rocks! I had hoped to make Toowoomba nats before they got cancelled but had more or less given up.

Tonneau is fitting up ok but some of the post holes are a bit flogged out. Will have to get some of the magical sikaflex and stick little bits of sheet behind to act as captive threads where accessible. I will fit the gate up and pre-drill the new skin prior to paint as well.

More warm weather next week so I can paint dash and engine bay.

You can get bolt threaded posts Clay and pit a washer and nyloc behind it to be more secure - just touch up holes after youve drilled them out - much nicer fit - looks good though

Thanks Rob,
I heave seen the machine threaded posts. Pretty exxy as I recall, but might have another browse yet. Old dad from tonnes and stuff reckoned that dikaflex would do the job. We shall see.
