WALLY'S EK
Re: WALLY'S EK
Yes Wally, can’t get any taller than that if that is what they are. 185 is pushing it on stock rim.

Re: WALLY'S EK
Ute looks great, Rob...
To me, ride height looks neat......
It should track the road nicely - and behave well in cross-winds.
When I first got mine, it was on 6.40 x 13 cross plys.... my first trip into the city and along/over/across tram tracks had me believing it was going to head off road at any moment... never forgot it...
I fitted 175 x 13"s (before there was a third figure) and it almost cured the tram track issue immediately...
I did find, on 4.5" rims - anything wider than 175 resulted in a bit of lateral "walking"... I had some 185's on it once.... rear was ok, but it wandered a bit at the front... went back to 175's the next set...

Re: WALLY'S EK
Tonnea cover, FJW?
You might like to consider Bowdens "vinyl reviver" to protect it... whatever you use, I would seriously suggest you never let anything with silicone get anywhere near it... especially that you have new material and can keep the blasted stuff away from it...
Reviver will keep it subtle and seal it .. including a significant degree of UV protection... great for plastic trim and bumperettes as well...
We use it on the vinyl pebble guard on the front of our van.. and also the spare wheel cover on the back.... it has kept both looking almost new.
For anything which has had silicone used on it, they make a product called "Sublime Clean"... it will get most of the silicone out... and all of any other rubbish which has penetrated the material...
Up until now, I have used it on the bumperettes of the ARB bull bar, rear plastic step and the plastic grille of the 200... it keeps all of them dark black and glossy... only needs an application every couple of months... even when away on tour when it can't be washed due to water restrictions up north and inland...
Unlike products with silicone in them, this stuff will not cause the material to go "grey" and matt.... blasted silicone sealants and waxes - another great mistake I made with my old bus.
I have it on the grapevine that Bowdens are in the process of releasing an upgraded product for plastic - will knock the sox off what is available on the market presently...

It needs lanolin. After that it’ll be brand new.
Re: WALLY'S EK
It’s going to go to a new home - bit of a barter deal I guess - one built as pure Orig rebuild from what I can tell. It is a very good one though.

Re: WALLY'S EK
Hey Greg - no it was beyond the trimmer - he outsourced them to a guy in Melb who first tried to copy the standard cards I had but couldn't get the mould right so we sidestepped to a Special version which came out well - the only part I dont really like is the chrome trim parts - one day I'll either make or find a metal peice to replace them with - just plastic now.
