I also spoke to the guy that I bought the engine off of and he agrees that the issue I had with it not starting and then the stalling at the intersections is probably fuel pressure related.
When he ran this engine in his VH/L commodore hill climb car, he ran an external Bosch 044 fuel pump along with the VL in tank pump, the Bosch pump produces 4 bar pressure, I run a VP Commodore fuel tank and in tank pump, these pumps apparently run a standard pressure of 3.2 bar so to start with I have purchased (eBay) an adjustable pressure regulator and am going to swap out the standard one on the return side of the fuel rail and see if I can adjust it up to 4 bar if this doesn't solve the stalling then I may have to install another pump but I'm trying not to have to do that if I can.
So I feel I have all of the electrical issues now in hand and just need to finish a couple of my things and the issue above then should be able to look at progressing to inspection and rego.
