I'd always favoured the original colours on the old Holdens and that ride was the first one that convinced me just how awesome they can look with modern paint schemes as well.
When my sedan gets to the point where it needs a re-paint, I've been thinking of doing the same type of thing (contemporary colours), but in a baby blue, rather than the candy red (if that makes sense).
Not completely convinced yet, but I'm tossing it around.
