picked this up about 3weeks ago

while fixing rust found this

and had to do this

it had been shunted and the right hand quater had been replaced
but the chassis was twisted and shortened so after splitting the quater from the chassis and getting it plumb we've got to this

we've also welded 15 seperate plates into the passenger guard and 12 into around the back window.
the boot area took 4 days so that has set me back alittle

See what you find when you really start looking, I bet most "rust free" FB's and EK's would look like that underneath, scary stuff :shock: .

thanx guys,
i new there was a little rust but this was the only car on the market at the time that didn't have a rotten subframe and chassis (just a bent one)doh
taking the weekend off so i'll get back to it on monday.
i preped and painted the underside of the bootlid

this will be body color with white roof.

That colour looks pretty good to me, great work you are doing there Munro. Good to see proper panel and welding work on restorers.

Congrats to you and Mrs Munro Tom, if you keep this up youre gonna need to buy a wagon and put a 3rd seat in it !

thats why i have to leave the bench seat in :lol:
time for the snip i thing, i know if i don't volenteer to do it the wife will use two bricks in the middle of the night :shock:
