Which fuel type

Post by 60FB »

Hi all,
Does anybody know if I can use reg unleaded in my car or do I have to rebuild my grey motor to suit unleaded, my motor was rebuilt 8000 miles ago and the head done recently (before I bought it) so I don't really want to do it again. If I can't use unleaded what about prem unleaded and a octane booster?

Cheers Nick

Hey Nick

I use the regular unleaded plus flash lube which is a lead replacement in my FC - 138 standard grey no problems to date.

I'm not 100% sure but dont you need Alloy heads to run unleaded?

although my mate has 350 HQ ute with cast iron heads, and he runs unleaded in his ute, he said it dosn't ping or anything.

but you can run Unleaded just put some of that squirty stuff in the tank (valve saver :?: Upper cylinder lube :?: ) that makes the cast iron headed cars able to run unleaded.

lol

hope it helps

Cheers

Flash lube is an upper cylinder lube

I also use it with unleaded in my HZ -202 red with no probs.
