Period Whitewalls

Post by Craig Allardyce »

I remember somewhere reading a discussion on what type of whitewall was period correct for FB/EK's but cant find it. I do recall some suggestion that thin whitewalls didn't come into existence till well after this and that the thicker flapper type/size was more correct for our buses. I did however run with the thin whitewalls for my FB by choice & looks but I always have wondered what really was the go.
I stumbled across this pic that suggests the thin whitewalls were indeed period correct for our buses.... maybe. Not sure if I see an EH wagon in the background but I'm guessing mid 60's.

I have a set of chromies with thin whitewalls that I used to run on my ute purely because I can't justify spending $400+ EACH for wide whitewalls :esurprised:
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
