Simple immobiliser

Post by rosco »

Just throwing this up for anyone on the forum to take up my offer.
It may have been posted before but I didn't see it.

Anyone wanting to fit an extremely simple immobilser to their vehicle, pm me and I'll give you the details. This is for standard ignition systems only - ie points.

Prior to incorporating a sophisticated system as part of the loom in my old bus, I used this simple one.

Basically will cost, 1 x small single throw toggle switch, one 2.5 metre length of wire, two x spade and 1 x closed ring terminals.
If you want the LED indicating function as well, another 2.5 metre length of wire, 1 x flashing LED, 1 x 560 ohm resistor and one x double pole double throw small toggle switch.

Not bulletproof, but will stop joy-riders for a short time anyway.

I don't think people realise just how penetrable the General's security system was - is.

I have an alternative for ignition module types and it will also indicate presence by LED.

What are people's thoughts on disclosing this to interested members/onlookers?

My own opinion on security is just that, tell everyone and it's no longer security............. but for joyriders...........

Rosco

patience

Post by rosco »

Ok, sorry for the wait.

Spent quite a bit of time drafting up a letter for moderators on this site today.
You'll see the results of that soon............ watch this space, I think the term is.

Will set to putting the instructions together tomorrow - should be ready tomorrow night, or possibly Sat.
Pretty simple, just annoys joyriders.......... for a while anyway.

Will post on this again when info is complete.

part 1 ready

Post by rosco »

Hi everyone,
just finished draft copy of immobiiser Part 1
it's big - 9 pages, be warned - won't post it but anyone wanting to subject themselves to a wasted 1/2 hour please message me and I'll forward it.
Gives a analogy in mechanical terms on how primary and secondary ignition circuits work.

frats,
Rosco

ps second edition should be finished either tomorrow or Monday.
It will only be a page and refers to non-standard ignitions..........

Further to immobiliser part 1 - have done a review and some modifications.
Part 2 still under construction.

Will now make available a Part 3 for use in conjunction with alarms/security systems........... have many thoughts which will not affect appearance.

Announcement to be made on completion of parts 2 and 3
