Hi all,
My name is Bill and I am in the Barossa. I am sure several of you may have seen this car on FB but here is a good spot to show my progress.
I bought this EK ute (JYD) at the Kapunda swap meet a couple of weeks ago
It has a 3" chop, larger trans tunnel and rear parcel shelf removed. There is a lot missing, so I will be hunting for various parts and reading up on past advice or asking new questions on this great forum.
So far, I have bought a 202, trimatic, radiator, extractors & gas system out of a HJ. I will probably sell the gas & run fuel only. I have ordered a windscreen and been investigating diffs, seats etc.
This will be a budget build, so I will probably go for a ratty theme so I don't have to get the body perfect.
We (the kids & I) have been removing surface rust and painting rust seal. I have all the parts to rebuild the front end, so that will be coming out soon.
Cheers,
Bill

Thanks Blacky,
Fair bit of work ahead of me & a steep learning curve. But we will chip away.

Re: Junk Yard Dog
anything with a chopped roof starts as a great platform... looks pretty clean.
i imagine a screen wouldn't have been cheap.

Re: Junk Yard Dog
Agreed Nathan. Not the easy 1st project I had in mind but definitely a challenge.
Thanks Paul. Your offer is greatly appreciated. Dr Chop did the roof some time ago & he apparently has a jig for the front windscreen but I don't know about the rear yet. I haven't had a good look at what came with the car yet.
Your ute looks choice.
Cheers
