Rusty Floor

Post by Mick1975 »

G'day,
I am about to remove the rusty floor from my ek sedan . I am lucky enough to have a really good donor. My questions for the experienced as I am not are, Do I need to brace the internal sections of the body before I remove the old one. I am replacing the entire floor so where is the best place to cut it ?
cheers

thqat depends on how much you are planning to cut out ? put up a pic of what you have and let us know where you are planning to cut.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I have replaced a few full floors. Ive just finished doing a hr ute. You need to work out where the spot weld joins are to drop the whole pan out. You shouldn't need to brace too much if the sills stay in place. The hr I did I had to remove the rusted out sills as well so I braced everything and also made measurements for the door gaps etc.
This type of project isnt for the fsint hearted. I hope you are good with your hands.
