It's been a difficult two weeks, as my mate who owns the business where I have been working on the Smurf passed away unexpectedly and suddenly. Unfortunately he didn't have a will, and he was the sole director and share holder of his company, so the doors had to close. I went in and screwed as much back on as possible ...
Things got slightly worse when the Camaro got jammed in reverse. It's something inside the box as I jacked it up and no amount of persuasion with the linkage would budge it. I ended up getting a tow home.
On the trailer...
And then settled into his new home thanks to a kind offer from a friend.
The EK is in good company because there are three rods hiding in the back. I'm feeling a lot better about the EK now after seeing it on all four wheels again.
Another mate helped me out with a new daily driver for a while. It's pretty cool for a Volvo!
I spent last Saturday doing some stuff on the EK at it's new home. The exhaust is all but finished. It just needs the hanger welded on and the tailpipe.
We made a cut out in the gearbox crossmember to give a bit more clearance for the exhaust.
The back behind the cut out was reinforced.
We also mounted the shifter on the tunnel. I'm using the standard shifter, so I think I'll need to put a boot over it all to hide it as it looks too modern for the inside of the EK.
And while doing all of that, I ended up buying a street rod. What a crazy fortnight.
