Ok, I have it in the restorers ATM, and she is stripped down to nothing. I need (NO I want) to fit a blue/black 3.3 with trimatic into the EK. I have a HR front end which will make fitting the engine easy. It's the Trimatic that looks like it could be the problem.
Do I have to make up brackets? Is it a complex set up?
Or would it just be easier to keep the 138 Grey and 3 speed?

Easier to keep the 138 and crashbox, but realistically not too much bother to fit trimatic with red / blue / black.
BUT...it's not so much the fitting of the engine and gearbox that's the problem, it's the other stuff that the engineer might want these days such as brake booster, collapsible steering column etc.
I suggest you go check with an auto engineer first and then make a decision from there.

Seeing as you are in Carine , an engineer is pretty close by :- Dan Pitic - 9307 1436 or 0419 932 022. He is in Hillarys and he can get you up to speed with whats required these days. AFAIK you will need dual circuit brakes with disc front, 2 speed wipers , collapsable column, demister ,seat belts. Nothing too difficult and most of those things are wants anyway .
P.S. - we need pictures of your car
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

depends what you want here and how much you can do and or are willing to spend, of coarse by a LONG shot it will be easier to just bolt back in what came out as has been mentioned there's alot more involved than just making it fit
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping
One big issue with the trimatic is the trans tunnel. Is it an auto body? If so it should fit if not you'll need to get a bigger tunnel put in. These can be bought from Waddingtons on eBay or direct from his shop and are a good fit allowing factory carpet to be used. You are right you'll need to make a crossmember but thats not too hard to do if you can weld or having access to one.
Crossmember (during the build), if you have a chassis kit you can pick up the rails for a mounting point or ask for the setup to suit.
Bigger tunnel
Finished
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.
I'll contact the engineer, but yeah all the stuff listed I want anyway. I'll be putting in a rack an pinion, so will need to put in another steering column anyway. The rear will be a V8 Borg waner LSD from a VN, so will have disc's all round. And the only other issue will then be the handbrake....
