Paul good to hear from you just thought I'd let you know that I will be fixing up Scottys internet connection(cabling problems in his new place) shortly. Is that the Ron Hodgson ad with the jingle"When your old car sends a message"and the the car falls apart?
Sweet, remember seeing in SA a red EK with white vinyl roof, looked ok but not a fan of the roofs.
I've seen a yellow and a nice metalic blue convertable but everyone does them differently.
Good to see another.

tina i'de love to see good pictures of yors or better still see it in person i reckon it's one of the best i've seen
there used to be a fish tank (tops of doors and roof rails still intact just middle of roof missing) one that used to get around out picton way years ago seen it for sale once then never saw it again (wasn't pretty)
Yea yea yea, ive had a few PMs wanting to know how the converty was done so would probably be a good time to start a new thread and show some pics as she's all apart getting a "freshen up".
No dont like the rag tops, i've got a steel roof that surprises people when its removed.
Body strength seems to be a real problem when the roof is removed on any vehicle, this car and mine seem to have similar body strengthening.
Always good to see th early customs!!

the strengthening in mine was good triangulated sills and chassis connectors, you could jack up opposite front and rear corners and all 4 wheels woul come off the ground pretty much even
Thommo
That is an extremly good convert roof for a one off custom
Proper folding bows with a headed that fits the screen shape and by the looks good sealing on the side windows.
If you want to see boat roofs on made up converts look at what was built here from the mid 80's till the late 90's on VW's and all other makes and models
Ally bows and press studs to hold them in place on the 1/4 panels and the screen tops, side curtains instead of side windows. Cheap and nasty.
no point having a convertable if ya gunna put a roof on it
you don't get any wetter than you would on a motor bike actually if yor in the front and don't have to stop and it's not pissing down you get very little water on you at all
or that is my experiance in a number of different styles VG valiants, HQ ute, EK, A model roadster p/u
