Im in the process of fitting a larger tunnel/ celica gearbox
so Ive cut the existing member/tailshaft safety loop out and will plate the ends
do I have to strengthen the top with plate ?
Then I plan to make up a crossmember to bolt to the existing bits of crossmember thats left
but nothing will line up, I know others on here have done the same but cant find any decent pics
any help will be appreciated :)

Im considering running the crossmember from the 2 bits that will bolt on to the existing,a lot of cutting/weldin/guessing,slowly does it :)

I may have a slight advantage, have been doing all sorts of conversions for almost 40 years. Specalised in, drive in (or Tow) and Drive out conversions on all types of vehicles as part of what I did in all my shops.
Here is another option

Didn't bother reposting mine from another thread as Jase had commented on it in that thread... Not quite like Smooth's but along the same lines.
