Hi all,
does anyone know what the specific differences are between FE/FC and FB Vacuum wipers are?
I'm trying to source an auxiliary motor drive unit and have come across a FE/FC one.
It looks to be much the same as an FB one apart from maybe the linkage pin size/type. The parts manual does list the two as different part numbers between the models. It also lists the linkage arm and pivot assemblies as different numbers also.
If anyone has some pictures of an FB drive unit and the linkages it would be appreciated.

Craig,
I checked the two workshop manuals, and can see precious little difference (the info in the manuals however Is pretty sparse). The FB manual does warn though that:
"Due to the similarity between the wiper auxiliary drive on "FC" and "FB" models, parts are identified by stamping the last two numbers of the part number on the crank, e.g. on "FB" 71."
Sounds like there is enough of a difference that they won't mix and match too well.
My FB has been converted long ago to electric, otherwise I'd break out the camera.
Cheers,
Harv

I was wondering whether it maybe either the length/depth of the shaft (differences in firewall depth to windscreen depth between FB/FC, or maybe the sweep angles as the FB had wrap around screen as opposed to FC (possibly slightly longer drive piece on the auxiliary drive).

Many thanks again Harv. I have emailed Ron and will let you know. I've also found a complete set up from a FB on Gumtree which should arrive in the next week.Harv wrote:Craig,
