Kleinig Rocker cover

Post by choppedfan »

This is currently on Ebay, it's a Kleinig twin breather rocker cover.

I had one of these some time ago that was on my old EJ, but I can't recall it having the "half round" indents at each end of the cover :? :? :?

I am interested in this one and can't see it being an issue as the cork rocker gaskets are pretty wide, just wondering why the indents ? and if I'm losing my memory and my old one was the same

Has anyone got one ? is it the same as this one underneath ?

Don't know why it would be like that because it's just going to dump oil onto the top of the cork gasket and pool there. Those things are so rare it's hard to find pics of them.

Other makes of alloy covers that look to be about the same thickness don't have those recesses.

Eeeeenteresting! Have you asked the seller if it has been modified?

Yeah I see what you mean it's over $400 now and still a while to go, the more I think about it the more I'm certain my old one didn't have these indents

Robbo if you are reading this (brought my old EJ) have you had the rocker cover off to do tappets? is it like the one I've pictured on ebay mate?????

P.S. MeFB I agree about the pooling oil, I'll watch it go through out of interest

$486.50 - someone really wants it.

I was going to chip-in with a last minute bid, but too rich for me now :(

Probably better that it goes to someone who'll use it. I'd just have hoarded it anyway.

I had a pretty good crack at it too, but wasn't going to go that high. Back to plan B, Nasco alloy rocker cover with two Offenhauser breathers out the side.

Sure did want that fuka - stupid yep, I know but you hardly ever see one so to me it's better than a stupid clock.

Interestingly the same guy who was chasing the crap out of it was the guy who bought the HOLDEN SPECIAL branded one last week for $569 (# 221204424547) I bought one ages ago for around the 120 mark but mine has HOLDEN FB SPECIAL cast into it. I've got a twin breather with a sort of oval cast into it but no ID - been told it may have been McGee ?

At least whoever got it has saved me having to borrow some money from my daughter lol !!!

Dave Mac

I hope so to Trev, this is where it makes it hard for blokes like me who still run greys (by choice  )

Seriously though while Ebay does bring some of the rarer old grey bits out of people's sheds it certainly has impacted on prices and the traditional swap meets. Even trying to find basic things like 1 1/32 grey carbies suitable for reconditioning is getting harder

Good luck to the seller it went for more than I thought, and I hope the buyer does polish it up and put it on a car thats driven and used

Well,it would have gone on my wall...

But if I find one at a swapmeet now, for that sort of money, I'll be sticking it on ebay and living without it.
