have been meaning to register with the forum for sometime now , have joined the FB EK club of QLD with my son but due to other commitments have only been able to attend two meetings in twelve months. Have been looking at other members builds and must say it is good to see how talented some people are and the level of dedication they have to get the job done!!.
My eldest Son and i purchased an Ek wagon around twelve months ago from central coast NSW , the car was running and complete yet stripped down and in primer ready to paint and also included a full bill thompson rubber kit!!.
We hooked up a car trailer and headed down the coast from Brissy expecting the worst when we arrived to avoid dissapointment , although it did have rust it was minimal lower a pillars behind subframe on firewall and a small amount on front of subframe.
The previous owner had the body work done by a freind who apparantly was a panel beater ( must have been a lazy one at that who had not heard of sandpaper before but thats another story) so although not the best work in the world we have decided to run with it as we plan on keeping the car and later down the track we may strip it back and respray (son keen to get it on the road)!
Hopefully my pictures will work when i try and add them if not i will have to get my son to add them for me as im not that computer savvy but i can lift heavy things LOL!!!!!

If my pictures worked the first few are where we are at now and the grey primer shot is what she looked like when we picked her up and the last two front end shots are what she looked like when the previous owner picked her up.
Hopefully you all find it interesting and i will keep the picks coming as work progresses !!!
We look forward to any comments and any advice along the way!!
I have to say i read the rebuilding of OLD TIMER and must take my hat of to you Stewart that rebuild was a mammoth task and you stuck with it until the end well done the car looks awesome!!!
any how thanks for looking and look forward to hearing from you all
