 looks home-made from a bunch of light truck parts. Looks like it has had the front of the chassis cut off.

I'd have to say it's a custom trailer that is steerable & braked. Very low slung and made with a specific purpose in mind. Maybe for launching a boat or something?

Other than that...not a clue

Would love to know...

Yeah. Hmmmm.

Well, the front-end looks to be upside down. The leaf spring would basically stay how it is now, but the cross-member would have sat on top of it facing up the other way. Having a big transverse leaf spring on the front end like that would maybe be from a 1940's era truck?

I don't see engine mounts or other mounts and stuff that would be needed for it to be powered.

Perhaps just an unfinished project? It really does look like a hotch-potch of bits and pieces that shouldn't really be put together like they are.

Yeah, I'm really interested to know what it is too.

Here's a pic of a Model T front end which kinda shows what I mean about it being upside down and too low on that mystery chassis.

A transverse leaf spring is normally on the rear-end like on Volvo P1800's, Corvettes and a few Brit sports cars. It's pretty rare to see it on the front except pretty old trucks and really early cars.

I'm kinda convinced it's a lash-up that someone gave up on.

Yep, looked for numbers and letters all over, to no avail.

French has been suggested, the front bumpa section is the most identifiable part as far as I can see.

For some reason it looks like the drive shafts have been cut out - maybe it was going to be used as a trailer as suggested above.
