hr front end
hi all i no this may have already been covered but here goes anyway
i have an fb wagon and i can get hold of a hr front end but it is a drum front end are these easy to convert to disc i want to run vt rotors and calipers.
is there much diffrence between the drum and the disc front ends on the hr.
any advice or info will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.
i can the front end for $100 thats why i ask.

If you are gonna go with late model brakes you can use a drum front end , you will need a pair of HQ/Z stub axles to replace the drum ones.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

i think for doing the commodore set up you need the drum brake stubs and then buy adapters
or as blacky said just use all H/QJZX stuff

Maybe give Hoppers Stoppers a call , either way - grab it , $100 is cheep

CRS does the Commodore process using the HR disk stubs as a starting point, machined out for the bearings and then some adaptors to get the calipers to fit... or at least that's what they did for mine.

is a hd front the same as the hr front as far as being ball joint because i can get one of these cheap to.

its all good after some research found out that the hd front from start of production to the end of june 65 were king pin front end from then on they were all balljoint regardless if they were drum or disc brake. as far as everything else they are the same including wishbones balljoints springs etc.

if it where a ball joint front end could you still use the drum spindles and put commodore brakes on it like a hr or would there be fouling issues
