Had a big drive in the inter van towing the boat. Left yesterday morning for a job in cooma. Stayed the night there and then headed for tumut at 8am. First stop flynns wreckers only two ks out of cooma. Much to my wifes dismay a few minutes as promised turned into a couple of hours especially seeing old jim flynn wanted to talk about the old days when he raced boats.
Couldnt do a deal on an old truck ive been eyeing off for the last ten years so continued on over the snowy mountains.
Man what a mistake that was. On of the steepest windiest roads ive been on. Compound that with a ton and a half boat and an old truck with terrible brakes and you get the picture.
Coming down the mountain i had to run in second gear at around ten miles an hour to not let the truck get away on me.my f
The 160 ks to tumut took around four hours and gobbled up 45 litres of fuel.
The rest of the trip to nerranderra was uneventful. Seeing the inter has no air steer power brakes radio or lighter my five year old daughter and i occupied ourselves by spotting dead kangaroos and occasionally she played the only song she knows on her recorder. We arrived at 5.30 in the arvo. All i can say is petrol must have been cheap when this truck was new. I averaged 25 litres per 100 ks.

Thats right thommo fifty years old and never launched.
Its got a problem with the fuel system. I had a drive of it. When it finally cleared itself it flew albiet for a few seconds then it ran out of fuel pressure again.
The owner will eventually sort it out.
I got home tonight. Man its a long drive on that freeway at 80ks.
