Red 308 Alternator bracket
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has a v8 alternator bracket lying around that they don't need. All I need is the adjusting arm. Cheers Mark.

Re: Red 308 Alternator bracket
Is the alternator passenger side top mount, or driver side low mount?
Probably have both types here and can post up to you.

Re: Red 308 Alternator bracket
Hey doc do you know if the 308 alt mounts can be fitted onto the 304 inj engine?? Im not running power steering or air con and thought if I could mount the alt up high on the drivers side it will save cutting the inner gaurd on the pass side. Any thoughts????????????

Run what ya brung and hope it's enough
Re: Red 308 Alternator bracket

thanks any way.
the van goes to the auto Lecy early next week, exhaust end of week and upholstery after that.
Then the big road test.

Re: Red 308 Alternator bracket
Great to see all is working out well Marko!
304/308 etc are all the same gear, only the VN headed stuff changed a bit, but still pretty much the same
You can fit a long bolt through to the front of the head and run a drivers side high mount, but would have to be custom made
Not hard or expensive, just need a mate with a couple of tools and an eye for detail
Let us know if you really need something made and I can suss it out.
All the best......Bob.
They all came out stock as passenger side high/low mount, was only the V8 Torana's that ran the drivers side low mount.DOLLER wrote:Hey doc do you know if the 308 alt mounts can be fitted onto the 304 inj engine??
