Door Rust Repair

Post by yaapeet30 »

Hi All, I am after a little advice. I have got a little rust on the bottom of my passenger side door. Its on the left and right sides but without having the door card off I don't think its in the middle.

Should I just put patch repairs in or is it best to get a door half skin or one big strip across the bottom. I have done some other repairs but concerned about warping such a larger panel. Any advice or things to look out for would be much appreciated. See photo below.

Thanks
Trev

Until you strip the paint off the door you won't know the extent of the rust.
I would be just patching whats there.

Like trev said take the paint off and see what you have. Usually the rust will be well and truly established behind the panel before it has become a hole. Usually putting a skin is the go if you know what to do.
Ive done patches or just made a lower skin (see old timer thread). Its really easy to make a mess if you dont know what you are doing.
