Good luck with the build, Mr Hall

4 door convertible

Post by farkamhall »

hi, yes it has always been our intention of having the fb as a 4 door convertible and after 10 years of sitting in the back yard we have finally decided to do it, the car that is, not us sitting in the back yard.. should be fairly rare i reckon as i do not know if there are any others about. will certainly be posting regular updates.

Personally I don't understand convertibles. Shit I don't even like having the windows open all that much!

But I'll watch with interest.

4 door convertable

Post by Malcolm »

Good luck, will be looking out for this one.
You know your going to have to share build info with us. Will it be full chassis???

Smooth, convertable is like a chop top with more chop and less top.

Cheers

4 door convertible

funny enough the engineering requirements were not as bad as i thought they would be, but i am adding extra strengthening of my own as an extra precaution. i will supply all the specs i am using upon completion of the conversion, and pics of course. i did ask someone on this forum for some advice before i looked into it myself but unfortunately they did not get back to me, which probably did me a favour in the long run .

they're no alot of work 4 door would be a bit more as you'de have to stop sideways flex at the door pillars
it will be the first 4 door that i know of i made a 2 door one out of a wagon
there is a 2 door sedan around used to be st marys there's another one on here in SA so there are a few around
