i was on the corner of fluscombe rds and the grt western highway blacktown , and stopped a t the lights a scrap truck pulls up next to me with a couple of newish fords and on top a pink fb with the jib crushing the roof , no doors on it and it was pretty stripped , no subfame , BUT i can tell you that the sills /and the section were the subframe bolts up looked pretty dam good , shane ... it still could have been used for sections etc.......i was turning , he was goin straight i had no chance to get him ....bugger ...
ya dont know performance till ya have driven a grey motor with a hydramatic....[/i]

you didn't try hard enough :ewink: all though most of these scrap guys are knuckle heads and won't take it off :x i once scored an EH off a scrap truck for $80 (before scrap values were so high) it had hotty 186, 5 speed, disk brake front, 3.08 limited slip diff, 12 slotters :sick: with near brand new tyres and a couple of good doors :thumbsup:

Hi MH, it was a Cameo Beige EK Sedan with a White Roof and Hydromatic ... They are getting rarer by the day :(

looks like someone else got some patches out of the subframe :ewink: shame the floor hum is gunna become a hi undie or a cherry :lol:

That was a scrappy called Terry.

He's the guy who gets us our cars to cut up for rescue training at the station.

I had a 'B' bottom end from a supposed 29,000 miler I'd left in the drill yard after getting the head and all the peripheral stuff off and Terry asked another shift who owned 'the old motor' and when they didn't know it was mine they said he could take it for SCRAP ! All I wanted was the f***** crank and now it's half way to China !

I rang him in a shitty and that's when he told me he had scrapped out an EK shell - would have liked the auto floor :roll:

He said he owes me one but I doubt I'll get another crank like that one so easily - served me right for leaving it I guess.

That's life !
