Hub spacers

Post by Bluehaze »

Hi all.
Before the excitement starts, I want to hastily clarify what I mean by spacers; Not the ones used to move the wheels farther out, (I know this is illegal). But ones which address the problem where the hole in the middle of the HKTG rims is a bit loose on the HR front and rear hubs, leaving only the shear strength of the wheel nuts to support the weight of the car (and all the dynamic loads which come with driving). I'd be surprised if I were the first to have this problem, surely ?

Yes, thank you Doller, so not only do they exist but they have a name. So are they in common use with steel rims, like our HKTG steelies on HR spigots, or are they only for mag wheels?
If I go to my local tyre specialist, would they be able to help?

Thanks Doller. I will take measurements, and I'll also ask a tyre place (a proper one). The way I see it, the spacers do compromise strength by spreading the shear force along more wheel stud, but hub centric ones should not.
