Couple of EKs

Post by hewey »

Today I cruised down to Darkes Forest for the Lone Star Body Shop open day, was a great day and I'll post some pics up in the events section after this.

One neat car that was there was this ute, with hand painted signage

I had to get a shot with these awesome plants, this is the road that the shop is on - nice commute 8)

Heading home and I caught up with another EK wagon on northern road - what are the odds  Looked fairly original and even had a period roofrack with a timber ladder on the top - my kinda car. Not anyone on here is it?

Good to see some "real" signwritting, Looks heaps better on older cars than the stick on vinyl crap. There's a guy in Goulburn who is brilliant and he can even "age" the signwritting to give it that weathered look.

That'd be Tony from airspeed. I've got an old fuel tin he pinstriped for me. His old fc ute was cool too. Though his coolest work was the air plane wings he made from alloy and air brushed pin ups onto, for trophies for the hot rod nationals.
