Whitewalls and spats - at last !!

Post by Glenhaych »

Thanks for everyones advice about tyre size to fit my spats. The spats fitted on perfectly (they are the ones with brackets and a lever to hold them on), went for a lap around town and over some bumping local Lennox Head roads with no problems.
Thanks again, here are some photos.
cheers
Glen

They look spot-on

Is your car raised a little at the rear?

I don't think so, the ground is pretty uneven, it's the same as when I got it in 2006

Good one, I've been putting white walls, spats & venetans on EK's for 20 years, I just like that old world accessory style.

Maybe just the uneven ground like you said. The spats on my FB are also the originals with the lever to hold them on but there is definitely less of the hubcap visible on mine.

Those wheel trims look awesome too. For some reason, they seem to go really well with the paint colour (I know that shouldn't make a difference, but they just look 'right').

Just put these on Plastic the FB today. They're BF Goodrich Silvertown 185/80/R13 (they just fit under the spats).

Apologies for the pics being a bit crap, I was using the camera on my phone.

Looking at these pictures again, I don't think there's that much difference between our cars ride height at the rear  I must have been imagining things

They were a little pricey :( I got them from Antique Tires (they are in most states).

A set of 5 was A$1600  Don't tell Harry186 - he'll rip into me for sure    and I'll deserve it.

I think the best look for the dollar are the ones with the thinner band that Glenhaych has on his car (sorry buddy, bit of a hijack on your thread).

Also, 185s are too wide to fit in the spare wheel well in the boot. D'oh :?

Wow    but I guess you don't drive it as an everydayer so you should get a few year out of them

They really do look cool and suit the car, I hope you got a wheel alignment as I wouldn't like to "scrub" out a front tyre.
