Oh no Sam - not another EJ shitbox !

Who would want to be seen driving one of them

Seriously, they are one of the coolest of the transitional period and have gone un-noticed for so long, are a car that has really grown on me over the years and, after all, look so alike to the EJ EH utes that everyone wets their pants over which are a commercial mirror image of the sedan !

Nice spotting Sam and Happy New Year mate.

What's the 'transitional period'? Is this something that's defined, like post EK - pre Kingswood?

I'm kinda curious because I've previously thought of the EJ through to the HR models as kind of bland, but am starting to develop a taste for a nicely turned out EJ / EH

I'd say it may have to do with moving away from (at the time) the severely outdated look of the FB/EK's, and catching up with how the rest of the cars on the market looked.

Or he could mean something else altogether

i think I like 'em cause the EH club people look down their noses at them.
We had a couple in our Vic FB EK club years ago

I reckon they look great glamorised - White walls, spats, venetians, flash kit.

Definitely what the first sentence said!

Body styling was taking a shift in a whole new direction. EJ's had the last of the grey motors which had served Aussies well since '48 while their alloy bell-housing gearboxes were all new. So yeah - it was a transition year.
