This is a different look at the ID plate spreadsheet which enables you to identify an exterior colour or colour combo by the first group of digits on the ID tag under "Trim"

Dave Bottleggers and a few others were added to the sheet before this second view was photographed.

Thanks Steve

The numbers been relocated.
Car now runs a HQ front end and
other work like a tilt clip.
By the way it's the same colour as the car in the logo at the top of this page.

Cheers

I is for industrial you somehow got a replacement engine from a tractor or forklift, at least that's what a retired mechanic from my dealership at work told me.

Steve I noticed you havent entered the chassis number for my car on the list.
ekwags62 wrote:Well finally got around to finding the chassis No and after some 10 mins of soaking with acetone and scrubbing with a wire brush and walah. There was that much paint it had filled most of the numbers so I thought the previous owners had sanded them off.

With it being #4 off the line they must have forgot to tell the plate stamper of the colour code changes. Going by the colour codes they're FB colours and because I could'nt read the chassis No and the instument cluster is FB I was starting to think it was actually an FB. Does that make it a rare EK?

Engine Number and Chassis number please!!!
Steve sorry to disappoint but the car is an old custom jobby. Everything that could be removed from under the bonnet and dash were chromed. It has a 186P with a celica 5 speed put in it so the radiator support and trans tunnel have had the chop. While they were at it they decided a crush velvet loof linning would go well with the deep blue metalic paint and velvet seat inserts. Bucket seats to the front from out of I dont know maybe HT or HQ.

Hi Mick, thanks for pointing out the omission. I have added the chassis number to the spreadsheet.

Tartan Turquoise and Snowcrest White I have only found on EKs. Haven't seen either of those two colours on an FB.

The chassis number is odd, maybe the body was damaged in transit and was delayed in assembly due to that. Maybe the 3 was an extra and it was a stuff up by the stamper. Or just a plain subframe swap that has happened to a few over the years.

I love seeing the ID plate !!!

Thanks,

Steve

Bet you wish you were the prevubial fly on the wal to know the full history on these cars. I'd love to know the history on this particular car from day 1 myself. It certainly shows the passion you have for them with the details you have shared with us all.
Good job.

My FB special sedan #32 on your list, has the chassis # FB15021A
Engine # is long gone unfortunatly.

My panel van #327, is not home atm, but I will get the chassis #.
I do know it had engine #B188989 but thats long gone too.

Cheers
