There is an 810 Cord under that body, and it has seen its fare share of road use

Thanks for the links,Smooth.

Kid,do you have any more photos or any information at all about the car you posted?

Its an awesome beast, not what I would call pretty, but awesome all the same.

Anything at all would be cool, even crazy stories about it from the locals where it sat for so long.

Did your buddy grab it,or leave it for future reference?

Looks to be a classic "special" of some kind, perhaps built around the time aerodynamically designed cars started appearing, such as the Bugatti Type 57. One thing's for sure, a heck of alot of work has been put into it, especially with the coachwork. Someone went to some real effort to build it, and it would be well worth saving. I wonder if there are any period articles about it somewhere? There could be someone still alive whom remembers it...

I don't know anything other than it's ugly & not for sale ;).. It'll probably sit there until its nothing but soil. The owner sounds like one of those frustrating types. Much like that fella with all those old Holden's in a spare block beside his house in woop woop (I forget the town name)

Cool car... kiid61 are you refering to the frustrating old man in howlong?? If you are he actually has 3 properties covered with old cars, mainly fe fc fb ek. i walked through his paddock for an hr or more and found shitloads of great parts, there was a 6ft high pile of fe-ek bumperbars, wagon ute van tailgates rust free laying on the grass. i wanted to buy a fc bonnet off him but the one i liked he wouldnt sell me, because it was on top of a ek front seat he wanted to keep the rain off.. he had an auction out there and sold not one part out of probably 5000.
