Spin on Spin Off oil filter conversion

Post by EKfanPaul2 »

I know a lot of pommy cars have conversion kits for their cars (Morris etc)

Does anyone know if there is a kit that suits the Grey motor?

Cheers

Paul,

Any of the aftermarket remote filter kits (eg Moroso) will do the job.
a) tee the inlet into the oil pressure sender,
b) plumb the outlet to the bung on the sump near the dipstick,'
c) plumb a 1.5-2.5mm restriction orifice into either of the supply or return lines, and
d) mount the remote filter base anywhere you like.

The aftermarket jobbies all look a little modern - may need to cover the spin-on canister with a chromed, painted or finned cover from the US aftermarket boys (Eelco, Moon etc).

This will only give you bypass filtration though. To get full-flow, you are going to need to go through some more major sump surgery. This may help:
