Re: My EK ute
I used to 'part' own an old Montesa in the late 70's ...we called it the "Flag pole" as it's band would crack on so hard that the rider used to become the flag, as in he'd flap in the breeze!!browno wrote:Montesa 247 trial bike resto

Re: My EK ute
hey trev not alot mate all i have done latly is drill the rivets out of the plastic tarp straps, shes sitting quietly in the corner of the shed in two minds, to clean it up and get it regoéd or full resto , shes got a bit of rust in the cowl? area behind the glove box area looks like a bit of a mission to get in there and replace any one atacted this before? when i get a chance i will upload a pic , leaning towards full resto feels like a ute that im going to own for a long time
Re: My EK ute
Yep on mine we had to cut and shut the plenum chamber both sides as it had rusted out. This is how we did it (left side but you can see the patch on the right if you look carefully!)browno wrote: shes got a bit of rust in the cowl? area behind the glove box area looks like a bit of a mission to get in there and replace any one atacted this before?

Re: My EK ute
Been lazzy with the ute but have picked up a spare a few months back

When i first got my xb about 4 yrs back came with a holden key ring with a blokes name and ph number 66 on it and location mt George i thought it looked pretty old.
found this ute while riding one day went and seen about it. got the ute home then remembered the key ring i had. Utes story was after his father died the ute had sat pretty much where i got it from for 30 yrs , same last name and location on key ring prob came off that ute small world
