Sorry i haven't updated earlier Dave. Rares gave the club the third sample badge for our perusal. We checked it out and reported that there were a few items of detail that needed attention. After a couple of weeks they got back to us and said that the latest sample was the best that they could do. Very frustrating seeing that the first (uncolored) sample was spot on for detail.
I can't understand why their manufacturer can't do a better job seeing that the FE/FC horn buttons and boot badges are of quite good quality.
We also wanted to have some other parts reproduced, standard rear screen rubbers being one item in particular.
I have a meeting with them in June and will see what happens from then.
Maybe the association between GM and Rares with their restoration parts program will produce some positive results.
If people contacted Rares said they were from a club and stated their interest in these bonnet badges if they were of acceptable quality, things might be looked upon more favorably.
Thanks for the update Bill and more importantly thank you for your involvement getting things happening between the club and Rares.
It seems a shame the first one had the detail and no colour and now it's the other way around ? When you see the very high standard of restorations on this forum alone surely they know how important the little details are. Perhaps if they divided the number of rear blinker lenses sold by two they would know how many potential buyers there are out there, lol.
You would like to think the GM people would have access to top shelf toolrooms where precision moulds could be made but we should all be aware how bloody expensive good tooling is ! They would want to know there where going to be high volume sales...

Amen to that item, Reidy...mine's more sicaflex than rubber these days! Although the standard rear screen rubber has been an ongoing promise by Rare's for eons!
Scotty.

Hi Trev, I'll have two also please mate, additionally guys I have just returned from the Toowoomba swap meet, not sure if you know, Harriisons Early Spares are soon going to start manufacturing FB EK gear, body rubbers, panels, lenses, badges, decals, interiors, brakes, clutch, engine parts, suspension, gauges, locks, steering wheel pearling etc, they have not put their gear on a website yet but are in the process of doing so, Ph: 07 5549 0351 for more info. If this is already known I guess I'm a bit behind the eight ball.
