Fender Ornament measurements
Good Evening everyone!
I have purchased a pair of Fender ornaments for my EK. Though i dont know how far from the front of the fender they need to be, as the instructions didnt come with the item. If anyone can help me it would be great as i want them to be right. Dont wanna drill holes in the wrong place.
Hope someone can help me
Cheers
Bev

g'day Bev,
One of my spare guards is drilled for fender ornaments -
First hole is at 115mm from the guard peak above the headlight to the hole centre (measured straight out, not following the guard profile), second 230mm further back from the first (centre to centre). Holes are approx 8mm in diameter, drilled into the ridge along the top of the guard.
Hope this lines up OK with the Nasco fitting instructions - maybe someone out there has them?
Cheers,
Matt

hey guys i was wondering if they where repo ornaments or a pair of old ones as i am also keen to get that look and if there new where mite i source some thanks guys n girl ,,,karsten
when they start building them like that again i will buy a new car of them
i dont think that there are repos yet, I was once told that in the eighties a hell of a lot of them ended up in a clearace bin at american autos/ rare spares, and they could not sell them. Mind you dad bought a set for $10 and slighty grinded the rears of them to fit his fx gaurds(approx 1985), ive pinched them since and have them on my ute. Its funny how yesterdays trash is to days treasure.
I think ebay might be the only way to source such items these days, things like this are becoming very rare finds as those fitted to cars in their day have either become pitted or destroyed over the years.
The last new old stock set on ebay fetched approx $350 from memory.
Other ideas would be phil illfield at newcastle (dipkids on ebay), or a quick email to all state clubs, who knows you might get lucky.
If those fitting instructions have now dissapeared, i can fax you a copy anytime.
Good luck.
