You'll have to change your forum name to "NOT Rusty EK".

So many cars so little time!
Re: Rusty EK,s Ute
Slowly , cant seem to find time to do anything at the moment , life keeps getting in the way , let me have a look at the photos and see where we were up to .
Re: Rusty EK,s Ute
Can not get photobucket to upload photos at the moment ? , but have got the underside of the car painted and am planing on putting the diff back in ( still got to paint a few bits yet) and weld up the exhaust and reinstall that too over Easter .
Have to sort out a handbrake as well , am planing on running a Jag handbrake cable and modifying that to fit to a HQ handbrake lever mounted on to the tunnel between the seats .
Well thats the plan for the Easter Break
Oh and a fishing trip , the Tuna have showed up down here and am hoping the weather will agree to a trip out to try my luck .
Will load some photos a bit later

OK here is a couple of photos , progress is slow at the moment , cleaning up all these fiddly bits for paint is time consuming .
But am nearly ready to start putting some bits back on for the last time plan is to put everything back under the car and drop it back off the rotisserie and get the front end bolted back on and painted , finish steering and drop the engine back in and fire it up , hah sounds easy
Finished painting gearbox
Painted the wheel arches with stone guard
And finished painting underneath

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and

You are setting the yardstick pretty high there mate , there is a lot of us waiting to see what comes next , you must have spent a lot of time thinking about it , the attention to detail is something else , thanks for letting us look
Re: Rusty EK,s Ute

Thanks Mick
Thanks Gaz , as you can see by the alum heat shields for the oil coolers I have taken some inspiration from your build , still go back and read over it , you will get that cutting and welding hand going again im sure but it sounds like you have been busy in other recreational pursuits by your other post , congratulations.
Cant wait to cruise the thing myself , but will be happy when I can get the engine fired and move it under its own steam .

Got a bit more done over the weekend , but run into a couple of problems , one of the exhausts now hits the shocks , must of moved when I welded it together
And the springs are 30mm too long for the new shocks , will have too get them dropped next week , so have came to a halt until I get that done .
