An FB and EK seen in Melbourne today

Post by EKfanPaul »

This FB has been sitting out the front of this place for about 20 years. A 'one day project'

The very tough looking EK was out the front of Bros Exhausts in West Footscray. They specialise in custom work and classic cars

Cheers

Doesn't look like they're going to do anything else with it, might as well put it to good use to hold the fence up

Hi Paul, would that FB be in rebel George's street in Delahey? looks like the one i saw 10 years ago, the guy who owns it used to have a monaro in the same spot before putting the fb there.

maybe the monaro is under it  once the monaro rusted into the ground he just parked the FB there  funny how he's gone to the trouble of covering a possable rear window leak when very soon it won't matter as it will be touching the ground and it will just rust from the sills up :(

Spot on - Joe,
Good memory. I was out his way yesterday so I popped in & caught him home. Told him he should bring his cool EK ute out more often & maybe join the club.
That FB used to be in good nick when the owner parked it there. I notice that there is a seam of rust along the rear passenger side door & very long grass on the wheel wells. What a shame.
I wonder how many good old Holdens have rusted down to unrestorable due to being just left outside to rust away?

My mobile brake specialist Andrew seems to know a lot of gossip about all old cars. He tells me that the V8 EK on the truck was recently sold for $40,000!

cheers

That is a reasonable price to pay for a restored EK, FB with a V8 in it, try building one for less?
Maybe stock or red motor running gear perhaps??

Is it still the original guy who built it? Last time I saw it he was running 12's with an aim to get into the 10's. It certainly is quick think I've got pics of it somewhere. I'll try and find them.

I've seen the car around a bit in the past too Bill. I think it may have been in Aussie Street Machines mag
I think the reg was WILDEK

A pity funny about the wording of the towing company on the truck! - it looks like he's towed away and unwanted car that was sitting in someones backyard!

cheers
