Hi All,

Newbie here too... I looked at the forum for about a month before I joined. Congrats, its been a wealth of knowledge and has given me much food for thought so far for my project, Ralphie... Don't laugh there is meaning to the project name...

1960 FB Special

A bit of back ground. This car was left to my Father by my Grandmother's next door neighbour of 40 odd years, Ethal. Unfortunately Dad passed away 2 weeks before we were notified so he never got the chance to know. I have wanted to get my hands on this car since I first saw it as a very young kid. When I was 11 Ethals hubby passed away and in memory of him she put it in that shed and never let it move but payed all rego's and insurance on it until 2 years ago. She always promised Dad she would leave it to him and true to her word she did. Now 30 years later I get my chance at it and in memory of Dad, Ralphie, I will bring it back to life. I'm undecided on wether to go an all original full restoration or slightly modify it to become a warmer faster version than Holden originally intended but somthing that has my "mark" on it...

The pics are all only a month old and the first ones I have taken from when I picked it up... The pic inside the boot should tell you that from the day it was parked in that shed till the day I picked it up it was hardly opened and the leather bags contain all manner of everyday spares required to keep the old girl - with a boys name - on the road. Globes, points, rad hoses, clamps to name a few and all in original packageing. A folder was also handed to me on the day with service history and books and reciepts insurtance papers until 2 years ago when Ethal got to sick to look after herself and her power of attorney stopped all the payments.

Cheers and I hope to gain much from my time here, including a restored car in what ever form...

Anth :D

I had to remove R/H/F wheel to unseized it to get it on the trailer.

Nothing wrong with giving your car a name. I've named mine after the previous owner as I bought it deceased estate, Leo!
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

Welcome Googs. :D
That's one great story on the FB...looks like it won't take too much work to get Ralphie up 'n' running.
I'll be looking forward to the re-build.
