Base colour is a red with a purple tinge to it , and it has a gold pearl over it .

Bugger to paint , these pieces have , etch primer , then 2pac primer , then base coat , then clear with pearl , then clear over that .

Spend all day cleaning your gun out
YEP..it's the only trouble with pearl, candy & Flake....but SOOO worth it in the end. 8)
I like the colour..is it gonna be one colour or more?

One good thing about computers, is there good whilst there going, and even better when they aren't.
They seem to be the time wasting thing that erodes your life, and that's after you spent a day working.

Your right there oldnek , I have spent so many hours on here is isn't funny , could have had the Ute finished now , but I have learned so much , by watching everyone else's build .
It also keeps you keen to keep going with your own build , you see what everybody else is doing to their cars and it spurs you on with your own . :)

Nah , had some 50mm 316 stainless tube laying around from a job , so brought some bends from the local industrial supplier ( were cheaper than the dirty steel bends that i brought to make the extractors ? go figure ) .

Cut the bends to the appropriate angles and weld all the sections together , bit of mucking around , but cheap stainless exhaust , saved money on the exhaust so I splashed out on some shiny stainless mufflers :)

The bigger the shed the more crap you stick in there

Got to get back on with some welding and rust repairs now :( have to finish off the Torana front end and finish fixing bits and pieces on the front clip , so I can get it finished off to bolt back on .

Started to make the rear brackets for the Torana front end today after finishing up the engine .

Hey Rusty, I think you have a problem with that engine. You left the flattops out near the Beam box.

No seriously if its taken 14 cans to build and paint the motor, how many have you gone through doin the body. (you may have to seek sponsorship)

Looks good, the Torana front end looks the mod of the season. With a few now having them. 8) 8)

14 cans , and that was just while I was taking the photo

Not all mine , 3 mates turned up while I was putting the primer on , well you know how it goes , funny thing is later that night I was in bed and I thought F%&$ I forgot to clean the spray gun out , took me an hour and half the next morning to get the solid chunk of rubber out of the pot and all through the gun

Have consumed a few quiet "thinking beers " during the build though
