Custom van found, worse for wear.
For all the panel vanners at heart, I came across this van today when on the road. It has major custom work done, V8. It is for sale for $800.00 if anybody is interested. If anybody has any pictures of the van when it was in its pride can you show me. I hate seeing things go to waste.

I reckon I had seen that van in the late eighties, or one very similar when they use to have shows in Shopping Centres, (Bankstown Square, Roselands and Broadway) Paul Kelly might even know or Sputz.
There's nothing as Sweet as a EK V8

still for sale mate? where are you? im very interested in this one
Re: Custom van found, worse for wear.
monza front, manta guards, wagon roof above the cab, deleted taillights, 1 peice tailgate, bubble windows, archway fabricated from steel, was once very loved, definatley an ex show van, gotta save this from scrap.
Re: Custom van found, worse for wear.
Does look very familiar, though most vans from that era all had similar mods.
It would be a shame to see it go to waste.

I have been speaking to Rhino from Majestic vanners, he posted this pic of the van when it was in its prime.
I loved these vans as a kid, it is a shame to see them go to waste.

No roof scoop, different bonnet, no back side windows or vents, aerial in different spot.
Unless it was messed with I'd say it's a different car.

Re: Custom van found, worse for wear.
hi guys
From what they say it went in for a rebuild and never got finished, I agree that alot of the bits are different, the wheels in the back are differnt, sun roof, tail gate, doors ect. They also say that the van could be Invader 2001. I am not sure all that I know it would have been nice in its day.

Re: Custom van found, worse for wear.
From my (admittedly quite hazy ) memory of the late 70's (dont do drugs kiddies , it messes with your head ) ,, a lot of vans , especially the frontrunners , were constantly being upgraded , the wreck in the pics could have been further improved ? with increasingly woggy add ons such as the window blanks , roof mod , bonnet scoops , etc before sliding into ruin.Trev wrote:No roof scoop, different bonnet, no back side windows or vents, aerial in different spot.
