Re: Whats on 2010
Hey Dr, apparently bright may be cancelled because the cops are apparently going to crackdown on every defect on cars this year eg. no fenders, wide wheels, blowers hanging out of bonnets etc.

Re: Whats on 2010
it's not gunna be cancelled, and the description (if they stick to it ) of what they are targeting is stuff that a car would clearly not be legaly registered with

Hahahahaha internet rumours!! The sky is also falling Dan....
As Ben said nothing really to worry about, also if you are doing nothing silly you should be fine. Mess up and pay the price.

Re: Whats on 2010
Bright's still full steam ahead, just that the NSSR (organizing club) have had some discussions with the police and the outcome is a bigger police presence. Mainly for the main street Saturday night as its getting a little out of hand.

Re: Whats on 2010
At our Let's Go Cruisin events we've been having similar trouble with the police, and it's scaring a few people away from what we hear but I think the general rule is that if you're not doing anything wrong, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If your car is obviously unroadworthy - blowers, no guards, whatever - then you've got to expect the cops to get you eventually. And when it comes down to it, what's the point in having a car you can't just drive and enjoy without worrying about the cops slapping a canary on it?

Re: Whats on 2010
That sucks! What was it for?
Dad went to the District Council meeting last night and from all reports everyone was pretty happy with the police over the weekend. Heard only a few people got done for no guards etc.
Apparently they also breathalysed something like 2000 people over the whole weekend and only 3 got caught, and were all locals.
Aside from that, good weekend though?

Re: Whats on 2010
Unfortunately that'll do it! From what I've heard the cop in charge was surprised at how good the event actually was. He couldn't believe for the amount of cars and people how well behaved everyone was. A NSW cars was told to put his rod on a trailer due to no guards and another guy from vic got told to fix his rears that broke on the way up. But sounds like overall they were very fair for a change.

They had a breatho set up as you head out of the town just up from the pub(not the pub at the clock tower the other one). It was saturday night, freakishly enough the lights worked the next morning without doing anything. No fine either!
