just a thought

Hate to be negative but I feel that for future Nationals we should focus on larger country towns. Nothing against Forbes or Yamba but there is value in getting a larger group of spectator interest to show off the cars and these smaller towns don't have the numbers. 8)
It must have chrome.

I'll second that Smooth, there's nothing like making a small country town look like it's full of FB's & EK's.
The event is run to cater for the lovers of all things FB/EK,

That's not to say having an event in a major town is wrong. But the Nationals should be in the bush so we can take in country Australia.

A small town invaded by FB and EK's, nothing is cooler than that! :D

OK

different views quite ok.
Just for the record not sure where the spectators link to recruitment came from - not from me. To me spectators just means even more fun.
It must have chrome.

Yeh I know what you mean Magic, and I appreciate the opinion of others good or bad but at the end of the day it wouldn't ruin my nationals if no public turned up at all, as long as there are like minded car people there to talk to,

Yamba is a very popular tourist destination and has Australias best voted ( on TV show " Getaway" ) resort called the "Blue Dolphin Caravan Park" .

Well, it used to be called that last time I was there in 1986!

Yamba is probably one of the most popular larger coastal towns on the N.S.W North Coast for tourists and I reckon it would attract crowds if the Nationals were held there.

My thoughts,

Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

having done my first nationals this year,
Ive found that it is an event like no other.
like smooth said, "its about us", and our passion for these cars :D
and I for one could'nt believe how low key/layed back the show n shine was, it was'nt on a fenced off oval,
where you pay a fee just to have a look round. also found that the entrant fee for the 2 day/night event was well worth it. -so it's not about "rakin in the cash"
was also comforting to see it was a family event, heard stories of how
some entrants had seen other entrants kids grow up over the years.
sorta like a big family :D now that we've(my wife and son)have been
to our first nationals,
we're already planning for next years :D  :o
I think the FB/EK nationals are"unique"and "more than just a car show"

i dont give a sh#t where they are on at or even if the public come to see the cars at all...this was our second one and we loved the drive there and the new people we met this year who have all got the same interest's as us. SO if it takes me three days to drive there next year (which it will) with a group of cars thats half the fun.. we just want to go and have a great time.. maybe im selfish not worrying about the public.. just my opinion.. cheers mark
