Just wondering if anyone's done this? Can it be done? Have collected all the parts (transmission, radiator, steering column, kick down switch, speedo cable, handbrake cables, etc).
I have a magazine from 1961 about the EK that states the transmission floor hump is the same as the manual, but other things I've been reading say it's different.

Transmission is definately different!
the floor has extra bracing through the tunnel area, CRS do a tunnell conversion kit for early Holdens, cut your floor out and weld it all in.
and for what it is worth, the Hydramatic was never the EK's strongest point, if you are contemplating an auto swap, think about a trimatic or similar conversion, same amount of work and ten times the gearbox!

Hoping everyone is finding my new Avatar less "Distracting" and of course it is not directed at anyone or anything either currently living or deceased, hopefully it may just be allowed to remain!
Personally I would fit a trimatic, parts and price to fix a hydramatic might shock you. As for the tunnel I recommend the CRS one as it is a good fit. Trim alittle of the front and about 1" to 2"s off the rear and replace the bracing, job done.
It's not the best pic I have but I can put up more if you are interested, but you can see the fit.
