I seriously couldn't have any car sit idle for that much. 2 - 3 times a year? Better of putting it in a museum, my 2c.

Even being a suuny day only car I'd still be tempted.
But then again I couldn't own a low mileage car for that reason the temptation to drive what would basically be an old new car would be too great.

I have to agree with Devilrod myself..these things where MADE to drive..I could'nt buy a car just to sit in a dust-free environment & bought out on 'special occasions'.
Don't get me wrong...I can see why some folk do...it's just that ME personally could'nt do it.
This is my opinion only, as I am a believer in free choice to all...i just cant get my small brain around the concept

All points taken. Saying that I'll only be driving her 2 to 3 a year is my projected intentions at this stage. I know it will be very hard, and extremely tempting to take her for a cruise much more often than that

It is a very nice car, but unfortunately the deal fell through for me

I am very picky with my stuff though...
Whoever buys it will be happy with it's condition.

The flight up to Penryth was worth it as I witnessed a good collection.

What I could ascertain from our many conversations yesterday, is I suggest what you need is a good basic car to start with, at say $10K, and tip $50 or $60K into it. That is the only way to get a "brand new" EK Holden

Unless you buy a rotisery and get dirty

Have a look at Jessica and Nathan Grima's car at one of the shows. That is a close as you'll get to a brand new EK. I am sure they would share with you how long it took to build the car and maybe how much they tipped into car.

I am so glad the boot alignment (due to the aging of the rubber) and the worn insulation fiber under the bonnet .... spooked you

As you stated, you needed to tip another $20,000 into this car

..... An extremely original Vintage mint " Factory Paint" car like this is not for you!

I was so hoping for an out..... I am thrilled to release you from your commitment to buy the car.

As first mentioned, the car was "not for sale", but an "ad for the Nationals" ...... though, you wore me down while in Europe on many phone calls. My mistake

The family is so relieved that the car is staying in the collection. As the car is now "Not For Sale!"

We all make mistakes!

things like that can make or break a car

steve remember it was for sale in the first place

sorta can't blame the guy i can't ever picture me spending that sorta money or anywhere near it on an FB/EK but i would want absolute perfection aswell, but like you say in an unrestored original car you'll prolly never find perfection things deteriorate just from existing don't even have to be used
