Almost forgot - can't forget the panel and paint guy...............

Well done to Mr Bootlegger too - Dave, you've spruced the old girl up a treat, and I think Sam has learned a lot along the way.

NAR! sorry NOMAD n Dave Mac... stock as a rock...

Hey Dave Mac. thanks for ya kind words. yer Look I had a relitivly easy ride with the resto, with Daves expertize & experience, it made my life a hell of a lot easier,,, & the whole point was to learn, & Dave certainly learned me a lot.... This car would NOT b half as good as it is, if it wasn't for Daves commitment to producing quality work. I cant thank him enough :) :) :)

I'm very excited & hope we can take her for a spin tomorrow????

definitely bring her around next couple of weeks???

G'day all,
well we had another productive day yesterday. here's a brief rundown.
- Brakes. all new wheel cylinders & master, plus all new re-bonded shoes
- New King pin , Driver side
- New sway bar rubber
- All the front end bolted back on
- New bumperets rubbers + bumperets back on
- Holden logo tailgate on
- Canopy studds & washers

it was a bit of a mission to get the kingpin lower steering knuckle out...
the Rarespares replacement doesn't come with it.... But a bit of thinking on Daves part, heating it up n then some good old fashion sledge hammer approach, got it free.

The other problem we had after installing the new brakes, the front didn't bleed, so it looks like the front lines are blocked, we'll get that sorted next week. also we needed a new hold down pin as someone bodgeed it up with a split pin, when we installed the rarespare one, it was 10mm too long????

Ok here's the pix. till next time... cia brown cow.

I really like this photo coz it says a lot about the car. its Dav of cause! & Martin the bloke who sold it to me,
:) :)

The ute is looking great, and by the sound of it utes will not be in short supply this year with quite afew projects on the go.

You are not too far away for zero hour now - and I have to say I envy you!

G'day all.
hope u all had a nice Easter.

Well we r edging closer n close to finishing old Fay Beth.

Got a bit done.

Start with the front end finished n all bolted on. here's a little tip.... Engine pans go on b 4 sway bar, Deeeeeeeeeeeer! u say, oh well, I learned the hard way.

Image

new sway bar rubbers.
Image

our little radiator hose filter... DON'T tell the misses, she's not realsied yet???? there her stockings
Image

Image

new fuel pump kit in, & ready!
Image

we noticed still a heap of rubbish coming out of tank, so here's were the tank used to be, we gave it a good flush & some shake rattle n roll with some fuel, then degreaser, then water, yep I said water. Little trick Dave "teached" me, we put metho into tank, once back onto car, & the metho attracts all the water n engine burn the metho..

Image

the tanks back on , & Dave ran the engine today & it went well.

Still waiting on front brake line b 4 we can take her for a spin, hopefully by weekend???

heres the door trim, needed only a little clean & good as new.
Image
Image

new rubber for door handles n lock, waiting on mirror
Image

rear tail lights in & working. Indicators were initially not working??? but after some investigation, found needed a flashed unit, new bulb, working now, 1 little bug we have to fix is, inside indicator displayes, both flash when right blinker is engaged??
Image

got the white walls all sorted, Dave went & got them fitted & balanced today, cant wait to see her with then on; end up going with the 185/80/13

Image

Ok, fingers crossed, this weekend is the brake lines, floor & the canopy, then we might get to drive her????

talk soon.
Ciao Ciao.
