thanks for the replys, so wat your all sayin is that i need to get another steering column? anyone have one? otherwise i dont think i will be fixing it :(

need to pull the steering column apart and remove the selector tube and replace with another one. My advice is to get a workshop manual as it tells you how to do it with diagrams. NOt a job for the faint hearted

i have ordered a manual and waiting on arrival, wat can we start on while we wait ...

sounds like your linkage has come of the steering box selector rod. This bolts on if it is the one that goes into the back of the steering box, but I fear they have a bad habit of snapping which means you need to diasassemble the steering box and replace the selector tube...Yuk - or fit a floor ...

hey all, i have recently gone to drive my car and was not able to select any gears and my gear stick was all floppy. I had my better half have a look and 1 of the linkages has come off at the steering box. i was wondering if anyone could help me out cause we dont know how it reconnects?its the ...

And if you are running the original 3 speed gearbox go easy on it.

A 186 even in standard form is getting close to approx double the power output of a grey motor.

The gearbox was engineered for a grey motor and the more power you throw into the box, the more wear and breakage that could occur ...

hey all, was wanting to know wat would be needed to change my 161 red motor to a 186 red. I have a 3 sp manual in it all ready and was planning to put a hr front end in. Any help would be much appreciated.

front door outer rubbers

I recently bought new outer door rubbers for my ek sedan and was wondering if anyone here had bought them from rare spares aswell and knows how to fit them. They have a wierd flange on 2 corners of the front ones and dont know which way round the actual rubber is supposed to go in. Please help ...

hey i'm about to get my cylinder head and rocker cover put back on my 161 red motor and was wondering if anyone had the bolt torque settings??

nah not the little bits, im talkin bout the long chrome piece that goes all the way along the bottom of the windscreen into each bottom corner, thanx anyways.

windscreen chrome pieces

hey all, just had my windscreen removed and the bottom chrome strip has no clip on it. the windscreen guy said there is no point putting it on cause it wont sit properly because it sits in the actual window and rubber. So i was wondering if anyone had one i could purchase?
