Re: Wiring a new temp guage.

20241228_150030.jpg Hi guys I bought an infrared thermometer. I'm getting 3 different readings... πŸ˜‚ It's killing me.... Just had it idling after warming up.. First three pics are taken straight after each other.. Guage under dash - 68. Guage near thermo switch - 83 and thermometer near top of ...

Re: Wiring a new temp guage.

Sorry yes the fan guage in the engine bay is accurate and the fan kicks in at 85 as standard pre set.. It's the guage I fitted under the dash that's showing about 12 degrees cooler... The fan comes on a bit but if cruising it comes down as normal and switches off when it drops down etc.. No issues ...

Re: Wiring a new temp guage.

Hi guys I've got it all wired up correctly now as per advice and it's working but it's always about 12 degrees cooler than what the thermo fan sensor is showing.. both probes are in the same adaptor on the top hose... Not sure why they aren't showing the same temp... Thermo probe seems right as that ...

Re: Wiring a new temp guage.

Hi guys, yeah the old cheap guage my bro in law fitted was connected to the negative of the coil.. It was shitty and never read accurately (from the above I can see why!) Haha. I'm gonna follow Errol62 advice and go red (and white) from ignition behind ignition barrel..
I'll keep you guys posted.. I ...

Wiring a new temp guage.

Hi guys, come to pick your brains again. πŸ‘ I'm fitting a new temp guage and not sure if I'm way off track or not. Haha. Can I combine the orange white and red and run them to the resistor as shown in pic. Then I've earthed the black at the guage end and the sensor end (as far as I can tell..) and ...

Re: Dash lights work with parkers but not headlights.

Hey just wanna say thanks heaps guys. I found the wire and reconnected it and it worked! For a short time. πŸ˜‚ Starterd off being easy enough twisting a bit and it would come on but it became very hard to find a spot and now it doesn't work at all.. May have to take it out and have a look... Is the ...

Re: Dash lights work with parkers but not headlights.

Cheers Blacky, just making sure we're on the same page.. The wire actually is attached to the correct terminal for the dash lights us the end terminal closest to the end ie "instrument lights" but it's the other end that's not attached to anything.. Where does it go from that terminal? I couldn't ...

Re: Dash lights work with parkers but not headlights.

Ok so it stopped working all together and I've found the grey wire has come off the dash light terminal.. But, how to I get access to this / how do you take the whole mechanism out or at least be able to pull it through the back a little so I can hopefully reattach the wire?
Cheers guys
