Can anyone tell me how to remove this last piece of chrome trim that runs from the back window and upto the roof gutter.

I have found underneath two globs of adhesive material and i was able to chip away at the upper piece but it looks like there is something metal in the centre, I've got my hand behind it in the "C" pillar but can’t find anything that would be holding it in place

I thought I would ask this forum before I get too violent and damage the trim, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi RobinG,

Welcome to the Forum. I'll post a pic of the back of that piece of trim up for you tonight. It has 2 clips/pins where you have found the 2 globs of adhesive.

I removed mine by very carefully prising off with screwdrivers...but not carefully enough and ended up putting a tiny dent in one... I don't know of any other way...

regards

This is not the piece I removed just one I have kept for reference. The clips/pins are pushed into the body of the car. its tricky because the stainless also has a 'lip' on it that folds over the gutter.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that Stewart

Had a go at one side this morning and got the trim off, the clip was rusted onto the shaft of the clip so it took a bit of force to get it to release

I ended up knocking off a 15mm round paint chip down to the undercoat, lucky i'm planning to repaint anyhow

Again thanks for the assistance
Rob.
